RAISING FOR RESEARCH!

Tracey Brooks receiving Women of the Year award

Congratulations to Tracey Brooks for being named a finalist in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year Gala. Man & Woman of the Year is a philanthropic competition to support blood cancer research among a group of motivated and dedicated individuals in communities across the United States.

As Tracey was finishing up the treatment for her second bout of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in one year, her uncle, Tony Carrk, entered into a new phase of his eighteen-year battle with the same disease.

As she was dubbing herself a “Cancer Finisher,” Uncle Tony began treating Leukemia, a side effect from his stem-cell transplant eleven years earlier. When they realized what was ahead, Uncle Tony leaned over to me and said “Tracey, SCIENCE DID NOT KEEP UP WITH ME. There is nothing new for me this time around”. Uncle Tony had his second Stem-cell transplant that resulted in three additional months of his smile, love, and grounded self-awareness, but in October they lost him.

Here is where you can help. We are in the final weeks in our campaign. We hope you will join us!  Please help us raise money for research grants. For every $50,000 we raise Uncle Tony, and you, will be making sure the eradication of Cancer becomes a reality!
