Erin Hammond joined Shenker Russo & Clark as Director of Government Affairs following her role as a Senior Advisor with Brown and Weinraub. Erin’s career is marked by more than 15 years of experience in state agency operations, including her role as the Director of External Affairs at the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM).
Erin’s journey began in the Governor’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, where she established strong connections across state government agencies. Her keen understanding of state operations and her passion for healthcare led her to the New York State Department of Health (DOH) in 2008. At DOH, Erin quickly proved herself as a valuable asset, serving in multiple roles within the Governmental and Public Affairs Department and acting as a key liaison between DOH and the Governor’s Office.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Erin took on significant responsibilities, aiding in fiscal planning and promoting equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. She also played a vital role in strategic communication and legislative priority setting at DOH.
Erin’s tenure as the first Director of External Affairs at the Office of Cannabis Management saw her lay the foundation for the agency’s external relations, establishing critical communication channels with industry partners and overseeing the launch of comprehensive cannabis regulations.
